New year resolution

Every year most of us plan a New Year’s resolution so that we have a better year than the last. We all think that this year is going to be different and we’re going to succeed at all our goals, which we all know probably won’t happen. Most of the time it ends in disappointment within the first month. Don’t deny it! It happens to all of us. The whole reason of making a resolution is to better yourself and have a better year than the last. So, I’m going to give you a way to make an easy resolution that you will be able to achieve. It will make you feel good about yourself because you will accomplished some goals.

This style of resolution is a nice and easy way to feel good about yourself during the year to come. Instead of making some big goals that won’t happen, make a small list with easy attainable goals; kind of like, a mini to do list for the new year. Don’t make it hard for yourself.

Example:

Regular resolution

  •    Make a meal every week for my family
  •    Eat healthy every day
  •    Talk more with family
  •    Go out with friends more often

To do list resolution

  •    Make a meal for family on Tuesday next week
  •    Eat one healthy meal or snack a day
  •    Call grandma on the weekend
  •    Go out with my friends Friday night

With the small goals, make plans and write them on your calendar (eg. inviting the family for a diner, calling grandma and making a date with friends). Chances are if the plans are made, you will follow through with them instead of procrastinating and pushing it back.

Accomplishing these small things will help you  get momentum. You will feel like you are doing great. It might even entice you to add some more small goals to the list. You will be amazed at how much more you are accomplishing this year. You should be proud of yourself!
